So, I figured that “Sometimes I Wish I Was a Boy” needed a response. I wanted to be clear that even though I may wish sometimes that I was a boy, I indubitably love being a woman. Women are powerful. Let’s face it, people are always saying that women rule the world. As for another Yoncé reference, Girls Run the World. Women are capable of so much. If we put our mind to it, without a doubt, it will happen.

Women Empower Women

Women have the ability to help other women rise up, pick them up when they fall, and try to give them as much confidence as possible. If a group of women walk into a room of men, they men will most definitely be taking a step back.

The Power of Underestimation

The underestimation that women receive constantly is almost always going to have women try even harder to prove that underestimation wrong. We love proving people wrong. It’s a great feeling.

Getting Away with More Things

Honestly, a woman can literally bat their eyelashes and have a smile on and get out of a ticket, get into bars or clubs, or getting people to buy you things. Hey, it may be unfair, boys, but that’s life.

Being the Center of Attention

We can make the world revolve around us. When a woman walks into a room, she can make the whole room stop and look at her just because her presence. Being the center of attention doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

Emotional Depth

Our range of happiness and sadness is greater than men’s. The depth of our empathy may make us “emotional” but with empathy brings up better leaders, better understanding of others, better students who are more successful, and better service leaders who are able to feel the world as one. Not to mention our maternal instincts are basically a super power that all women have or will have.

Sisterhood

All women have some idea about sisterhood that they can relate to. Doing anything for your friends is one thing but feeling each other on a spiritual level and loving them like family is another. Those few ladies that you’re always getting lunch with, those ladies that you invite to get ready before a party, those who you go to when you need to pick out an outfit or selfie; that’s your sisterhood.

We Enjoy Getting Ready to Go Out

There’s nothing more exciting than being able to sit down, plan out the perfect outfit, focus on the masterpiece which will be your makeup, and make yourself even hotter than you already are.

We Get Ready Together, Always

With getting yourself ready, it’s a ritual for ladies to get ready for everything together, always. It’s so much fun and it’s just a fabulous bonding experience. If you didn’t get ready with all your gal pals and take a ton of Snapchats and selfies, did you even get ready?

Free Drinks, Meals, Clothes, etc.

Whether it’s your boyfriend, guy friend, or some boy you met at the bar, free things are almost always a factor. What’s better than free things? More free things.

Let’s be honest, vaginas rule the world (and created it).

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

4101
Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
