You’re in between all the years and you have no idea what to do. Freshman year is all about getting used to college. It’s a year of excitement, opportunity, and maybe, being a little rebellious. Sophomore year is your comfort year. You have a solid friend group, probably joined a club or Greek Life, and you still enough time to enjoy college. Senior year is your senior year. You have already accepted that it’s your last year and that you’re graduating so you’ve decided to
Well, my fellow third-years, junior year is the year you stressful and
1. You Kind Of Want To Dance On A Frat Table And You Kind Of Want To Watch Netflix.
One thing about Junior year is you’re not a freshman anymore and you’re not a senior. You have that “I
2. If You Are Anything Like Me, All Your Friends Are Turning 21 Before You.
While you’re debating going to that frat party or staying in, you forget that all of your friends turned 21 way before you and are leaving you to go to the bar. Which makes you decide to just give up and pull out Netflix for the night.
3. You Can No Longer Skip Class.
Let’s be honest, how many of you had a general education class that you never went to? You barely knew the professor and the professor barely knew you. It made it pretty easy to decide not to go to class, if you didn’t feel like it.
Now that you’re in your main major classes that have all the same professors, that know your name, who you sit with, who you talk to, if you’re failing or
4. You Are Literally Tired 24/7.
Out of nowhere you go from taking fairly easy classes to taking 300 level classes, being president of
5. You Think About Dropping Out Every Day.
Dropping out of school will just get rid of all the junior year stress, which sounds like heaven right now, but you only have a year left so you might as well just stick it out. Just try to keep your sanity.
6. All Your Friends Start To Butt Heads.
All those best friends you made throughout your two years of college are now all in their junior year as well. You quickly learn that tired and stressed out people do not mix well. You end up biting each other's heads off because you are so done with school and too tired to try and fake that you actually are fine and have your life together.
Though, you eventually make-up and lean on each other, because at the end of the day they’re your best friends and you couldn’t make it through junior year without them.
7. One Word: Internships.
You now have to prepare yourself to not only balance studying, classes, an officer position and keeping your hamsters alive, but also, entering the stressful world of interning.
8. You Are Constantly In A Panic Over Only Having A Year Left.
All these thoughts start popping into your head, “did I miss out on any opportunities?”, “I only joined one club!”, “I am wasting my college years!”, “did I even pick the right major?!” Which makes matters worse because you start acting on those thoughts, which usually ends up being your breaking point.
9. Hearing Those Lovely 11 Words From Your Advisor.
“You aren’t going to be able to graduate in four years.”
*Cue eye-twitch*
Hang in there my fellow juniors, we’ll get through this together
