9 Reasons Why Fall 2017 Should Be Your Favorite Season

From the weather to the holidays to the pumpkins, it's pretty much the best season ever.

Early mornings are chillier, late nights are cooler, and that means fall is just around the corner. From the warm and cozy sweater weather to the fun and festive holidays it brings, I think it's pretty obvious to see why it's my favorite season of all time, and here are ten reasons why it should definitely be your favorite too.

1. The (Beautiful) Falling Leaves.

Call me crazy, but since when has something dead ever made you feel so alive? You can rake them, you can sit out on the grass and watch them, and (your allergies might try to stop you but) you can jump in them. Leaves are the best, especially when they're littering the ground during the most beautiful time of the year.

2. Pumpkin. Pumpkin Everything.

Yesterday I got my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season, and it was everything I could have ever wanted and more, but it's not the only pumpkin-related food item you'll find me eating (or drinking) this time of year. From pumpkin pie to pumpkin muffins and even pumpkin cheesecake (which tastes amazing by the way), you can find this beautiful little creation pretty much everywhere this time of year, and if we're being honest, what more could you really ask for?

3. The Holidays.

The holiday season is upon us, but before you start putting up the tree and stringing lights across every visible part of your home, take a moment to appreciate the joys that are Halloween and Thanksgiving. From the candy to the costumes, the food (so much food), and the friends and family that surround it all, these holidays don't get enough credit for the blessings that they truly are.

4. The Cooler Weather.

We've reached the point in the year where North Carolina weather can get a bit confusing. Do I need to bring a jacket or wear a tank top? Shorts or pants? Why am I freezing in the morning and getting sunburned in the afternoon? The struggle is real, but it'll all be over soon because with the return of fall comes the return of cooler weather that actually lasts all day, so break out the cozy sweaters and boots because fall is back.

5. The Clothes.

Speaking of cozy sweaters, if there's one thing that makes me happy, it's the warm clothes I finally get to wear this time of year. I firmly believe that boots make every outfit better (which is probably why I wear them basically every day) and that a nice warm sweater can make any day better.

6. College Football.

As much as I love college basketball, especially here at UNC, as fall approaches it's not quite time for that, but it is most definitely time for college football. There's just something so magical about cheering on your home team in the student section of Kenan Stadium, surrounded by all of your fellow Tar Heels, and just thinking about it makes me love fall even more.

7. The Food.

I don't know if you've picked up on it by now, but I really love food this time of year. Aside from pumpkin-related food items, there are so many beautiful meals to be had this time of year (and yes, I'm looking at you Thanksgiving).

8. The Release of Taylor Swift's New Album.

I tried not to include it, I really did, but when I think of fall I think of new music, which this year might just so happen to include that of Taylor Swift. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely a little too ready for it.

9. School.

There's 'early August' school, and then there's 'mid-September to early October' school, and those two are two completely different things. One is thinking that the exam you have three weeks from now is still super far away, and the other is realizing that the exam you had three weeks from now is actually three days from now.

However, from the Halloweens on Franklin Street to the late night study sessions that it brings, I can confidently say that I'm actually forward to it. Then again, its fall, of course, I'm looking forward to it.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
