The New York Yankees are the most dominant team across all sports, they have won 27 world series and 40 AL pennants. There is one Yankee shortstop that stood out the most and that is Derek Jeter. Derek Jeter became the face of the Yankees in his career. Every player on the field wanted to be the next Jeter. Jeter achieved 3000 hits plus in his 20 season career and has won himself 5 rings. He played 2,673 games in his career and maybe could have even played more.

1. Mastery

Derek Jeter played 20 seasons for the New York Yankees, with 14 all star games, 5 World Series rings, and 5 gold gloves, and leads the Yankees in career hits. His mastery of the sport will definitely result in his entry to the baseball hall of fame.

2. Clutch Factor

Derek Jeter has the unbelievable ability to get the hit to win the game, or the throw to win it all. Jeter rarely let the game slip from his fingers. Jeter was always a game changer, and could do the unexpected.

3. Respect

Jeter has earned respect nationwide, he has always been a player that has let his actions speak for him. He never uttered a disrespectful word towards a manager, ump, or player. He will regarded as one of the sincerest players of all time. Jeter earned his respect by letting his abilities

4. Humble

Jeter was not a bragger, he didn't shove his accomplishments in others face. Jeter made friends with players around the league, and inspired many players to achieve greatness. Everyone would praise Jeter for his fantastic effort, but he never took full credit, he was a team man.

5. Consistency

Jeter did have bad games, but for the most part Derek Jeter maintained a high average, and got on base nearly every time he would bat. Pitchers would desperately try to pitch around him but it rarely ended without a hit.

6. Love for the game

Jeter didn't just play the game for the profit, he played because he loved the game for his entire life. Jeter enjoyed every minute he was on the field. He is labeled as a professional athlete, but he is just like the little league kid winning the big game.

7. Resilient

Jeter would give up his body for every single play, he would dive into the seats or collide with his own teammates in order to make the play. He landed head first on concrete and came back in the very next inning. His ability to get back on the field after injury helped the yankees win many games.

8. Relentless

No matter what the teams threw at him, he could find a way to get the job done. If you try to take him out with a slide he will make sure you and the batter get out. Jeter was an impenetrable wall of defense.

9. Friendly

Derek Jeter was one of the friendliest players in the league, he rarely turned down an autograph, and he loved to talk with kids. Jeter never had fan related issues and fans of baseball around the world love Derek Jeter, a man who changed the game, while also surprising the world with his immense talent.
