Here is a list of things you should care A LOT MORE ABOUT than some dumb celebrity beef. I'm not one to say I don't love good gossip, but now is not the time or place to be putting this silly 'war' in the spotlight.

2016 has been a bit of a mess. Its like the reel of clips they show at the beginning of all those 'the world is ending' films that show how the planet got to this point of destruction.

People are dying in the streets across the nation and around the world, a racist, idiotic, and misogynistic asshole is running for the highest position in government, and the world hurts in too many countries.

Here are things you should care much more about than Taylor Swift and Kanye West:

1. Turkey's president has declared a state of emergency for three months following Friday night's failed army coup.

600 schools have been shut down and thousands upon thousands of state employees have been fired or removed.

2. Nearly 60 civilians were killed in a US airstrike on the ISIS-held city of Manbij in Syria, a prominent rights group says.

US- led coalition against ISIS results in death of nearly 60 Syrian civilians.

3. Baton Rouge Shooter Called Cop Killings 'Necessary Evil' In Last Email

Before he killed three Baton Rouge officers, Gavin Long sent a handwritten note in which he called the killings a "necessary evil" aimed at creating "substantial change in America's police forces."

4. Cop bias is real, study shows. So is pessimism about race relations.

The National Bureau of Economic Research and Pew Research Center publish studies concerning the populations views and thoughts towards race relations in America.

5. Cop shoots caretaker of autistic man playing in the street with toy truck

An unarmed black man was shot in the street while looking after an autistic man.

6. France Extends State Of Emergency For 6 Months After Nice Truck Attack

French lawmakers approved a six-month state of emergency on Wednesday after last week’s truck attack in Nice, the third deadly assault in just 18 months for which Islamist militants have claimed responsibility.

7. Elite Private School Accused Of Shielding Sex Abuser

New court filings accuse Viewpoint School in Calabasas, California, of shielding a problem teacher who taught at other elite schools before pleading guilty to sex abuse last year.

8. Rio Olympics: IOC Delays Decision on Banning Russia Over Doping

The International Olympic Committee said it would weigh the options of a collective ban versus "the right to individual justice" in regards to the non-involved athletes. The competitors and coaches from the Sochi Winter Games in 2014 will also be re-tested.

9. This cat's paws

Now please, focus on the important stuff.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
