The July 4th weekend is right around the corner and lots of people use their time off to do different things. Some use the time to travel and others use it to host cook-offs and parties to celebrate the birthday of our wonderful nation. I, for one, will be using my extra time off to…watch TV.

On the actual holiday of July 4th, it isn’t uncommon to find movie marathons across the cable networks: an NCIS Marathon on USA, The Twilight Zone on Syfy, and even the Back to the Future Trilogy on Discovery Family. If you’re a TV lover like me, but may not be into any of the various marathons happening on TV this Independence Day, it’s not the end of the world. You could always make your own marathon with the endless number of TV Series and movies available to us by the wonders of technology (DVD, Amazon, and internet streaming).

OIf you can’t think of anything to binge watch over the holiday weekend, here are some movie and TV show marathon ideas:

Boy Meets World (158 half hour episodes)

Revisit the nineties this July 4th and re-watch the adventures of Corey, Shawn, and Topanga.

Men in Black (3 movies available on DVD)

Will Smith never fails to entertain, even if it’s Independence Day.

Modern Family (166 half hour episodes)

If you’re looking to laugh out loud over the holiday weekend, then the mockumentary comedy series of that follows the Pritchett is a perfect match.

Ice Age Franchise (4 movies available on DVD)

Fun for the whole family and a marathon on July 4th would be timely for the new Ice Age movie coming out later in July.

Seinfeld (180 half hour episodes)

There are plenty of episodes from one of NBC’s best comedies to last through the whole holiday weekend.

Game of Thrones (60 hour long episodes)

When is it not a good time to binge watch Game of Thrones?

Shrek Franchise (4 movies available on DVD)

This time around, try to catch all the adult jokes hidden in the Shrek movies you didn’t notice when you were a kid.

Law & Order SVU (389 hour long episodes)

For those more into the drama types, this would be the perfect series to marathon on July 4th weekend. Plus, there are an abundance of episodes to choose from!

Harry Potter (8 movies available on DVD)

An almost 20 hour marathon on Independence Day may be too much to ask. This one would definitely have to be spread over the weekend.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
