Going off to college is a big deal in and of itself. When you add in moving into your own house with friends things get even more crazy than you ever imagined. Your'e flooded with freedom and responsibility at the same time. This is a list of things you can likely relate to when you've moved out of your parents house into your very own.
1. Your parents expectations versus yours while you're looking for a house seem to be just a little bit different..
Mom says "this will do"
While this is more your speed & budget since you know... I'm in college
2. You've gone weeks maybe even months without mowing the lawn and thought everything was going to be okay...
Unfortunately you and the neighbor who happens to be a cute old man that lives through his perfectly cut grass are not on the same page with this landscaping. Life is busy as a college student.
3. Everything was fun and games until you realize all you have left to eat for dinner is a slice of cheese and a raz-ber-ita, and you have $0.20 left until next Friday.
4. "Mom, what temperature should I keep the house at to keep the bill under $26? Because that's all I've got."
You know calling mom and dad twice a day to ask questions way too well, you also know being broke pretty well. Like I said before... I'm a college student...
5.When you go home for breaks and your parents ask you to do chores you have to keep your cool.
6.When you have to call your parents and tell them you're out of money and pay day doesn't come for another week and a half.
"Honey what did you spend all of the money on?"
You really have no idea, but certainly not what it was supposed to be spent on.
7. You think since you have a full kitchen you'll turn into chef boyarrdee, well it's only true about 3 times a year.
8.Your roommates turn into your family
Being around them all the time actually doesn't get old. Anytime someone comes home there is excitement. You go almost everywhere together.
9.You appreciate your mom and dad more for everything they do when you are away, and realize some of the responsibilities that came with the house you never even thought of.
