Maintaining a healthy lifestyle in college can be a bit of a challenge, between endless meals of cafeteria food, late night snacks, and living in a dorm. With an open mind, making a meal within your dorm can be easier than you think.

Here are a few meals that you don’t need anything besides a fridge and a microwave to make!

1. Chocolate Protein Bites

These energy bites take less than 20 minutes to make and all you need is oats from oatmeal (3 tbsp), some peanut butter (2 tsp), a little honey (1/2 tbsp) and some chocolate chips. Roll the ingredients into balls and refrigerate to let them set!

2. Blueberry Oatmeal

Here's how to spice up that boring oatmeal. Pick up a bag of organic rolled oats, a carton of milk and fresh blueberries the next time you’re at the grocery store. Microwave your oatmeal with milk (instead of water, for added protein and flavor) and top with blueberries… and maybe even a shake of cinnamon too (if you have).

3. Yogurt Parfaits

Greek yogurt and granola is a popular combo, but these parfaits make it look like something special. Layer your Greek yogurt with granola and fruit and repeat until your jar is full! Not only does it look pretty but it tastes good too!

4. Mug Mac n' Cheese

I personally tried this and it is so good!! Much better than the typical "easy mac." This is super easy and cheap to make, just buy a box of whole grain noodles and top with cheese and milk, and so worth it when you miss homemade food. You can find the recipe here!

5. Avocado Toast

In recent months, avocado toast has become the next big thing, and its supper easy to make! All you need is some bread and an avocado. Simply toast your bread, smash up the avocado, add some salt and pepper and voila!

6. Peanut Butter and Banana Rice Cakes

A simple protein-packed snack that doesn’t require mixing, baking or preparing, it only requires three simple ingredients and within 30 seconds your new craving is satisfied. Simply spread peanut butter on your favorite flavored rice cake and cover with sliced banana!

7. Greek Yogurt and Peanut Butter Dip

All you need is 1 container of greek yogurt, 2 teaspoons of peanut butter, 1/2 teaspoon of honey, and 1/2 of cocoa powder and mix it all together! Pair it with some fresh fruit like apples or eat it by itself.

8. Eggs in a Mug

Ever craving eggs? If you have a mug and a microwave you are one step ahead. Add two eggs and milk into a mug and begin to stir them. Then you may add some cheese if you would like, put it in the microwave for 2 minutes, take out and stir and place back in for one more minute, and then you have your eggs!

9. Granola Apple Bites

To make these you will need 2 apples, sliced into wedges, 1/4 cup peanut butter, 1/4 cup granola, 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, for sprinkling and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Coat tops of apple wedges in peanut butter and sprinkle with granola and cinnamon. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave, and pour on top.

Yes, campus life is crazy and stressful and ridiculous, but that doesn’t mean you can just eat whatever you want. These nine snacks can help you get on the right track!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
