College is great, except for when you are a Communications major and you accidentally schedule a STAT class. Luckily, advisers are great at catching these mistakes, but scheduling is always a stressful time. Either you have no idea what classes to take, or the class you want is full.

Sometimes you really need an easy class to take your mind off your 400 level political science class. Here are the top nine easy Gen Eds to take while you're at Penn State:

1. Math 34

This is the math class for anyone who doesn't like math. It's the math of money and goes over concepts like loans, interest, and taxes. Basically everything you will need when you start adulting.

2. Geo Sci 10

This class is all about national parks. Yes, you actually study national parks and it's really interesting. The quizzes are easy and the professor is the weirdest, yet coolest guy you'll ever listen too. This class is also online, which makes it 10 times better.

3. Geo Sci 40

Another science, but this one focuses on Oceanography. There are online assignments every week and the test are relatively quick and easy. Plus, the final is optional! One less final, sign me up!

4. Soc 30

This class is extremely interesting. It focuses on the study of family, and how gender, race, and ethnicity influence the family lifestyle. Class isn't mandatory, and the professor is so cool. She is so laid back but has a way of explaining the concepts so you'll remember the topics.

5. Thea 100

Theatre 100 focuses on plays, performance techniques, and much more. Taking notes and attendance is mandatory, but the quizzes are online. Also, you have to go to a play, but the plays/musicals are usually amazing and it makes you do something you wouldn't normally do.

6. AFR 192

The class focuses on Modern African History. The tests for this class are pretty hard, but the professor evens it out with group projects. Also, attendance is mandatory, but it pays off in the end. If you attend classes and work hard throughout the year, the professor will discuss your grade with you and help you out if necessary.

7. Comm 100

This class focuses on the basics of communications. The tests are OK, but depending on the professor they may curve it bases on the average.

8. Engl 234

Sports English is so cool! You get to have discussions everyday about sports, and the homework consists of writing blogs and watching Netflix sport shows.

9. BiSci 003

Honestly, I can't even explain what this class is about. There are three different sections throughout the class and a lab. There are no tests, but you are graded on a journal you keep the whole semester. Students are put into groups for their lab with their TAs. It's basically a chat session on life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
