Life has a way of knocking us off our feet. Having the right people around us to help us back up and shake the dust off can make all the difference in the world! Here are some friends that are defiantly worth keeping in your corner.

1. Friends that give you their time

I've always heard that the line between a good friend and a great friend is who you know you can call in the middle of the night, and everyone needs at least one person that will be there for them no matter what time it is. Sometimes there just aren't words for a situation, but we all know that one person who's presence is comforting.

2. Friends that give you YOUR time

Good friends know that you don't have to hang out every day 24/7 to be there for each other- sometimes we need space and the right people realize that this is ok.

3. Friends that lift you up

Friends who know how to build you up in bad times are worth their weight in gold. These are the people who will put their arm around you and walk with you through bad times.

4. Friends that need your help

As great as it is to have people who you can rely on, you'll never truly grow until you have someone that you're able to pour into for yourself. Investing in another person is one of the most rewarding things you can ever do.

5. Friends who think differently than you

While it's absolutely important to have people that can grow along side you, it's also a good idea to have people who are willing to give you a perspective that will grow the way you think.

6. Friends who are completely honest with you

Sometimes the truth just hurts, and it takes a lot of love to speak the truth in a situation where it may not be well received.

7. Friends who know how to listen

There are times where we don't need advice, we just need someone to be there. The friends that know that love doesn't take words are worth more than we know how to say.

8.Friends who's personality is different than yours

It's easy to forget that the hole world isn't full of people just like us- maybe you're super quiet or even super out going. Having someone who may not always respond like you is a way to grow as a person and gain new perspective. People that help round you out can give you a hole new way to see the world.

9. Friends who know how to laugh

It's hard to think of better medicine than a good belly laugh. A friend who knows how to find the joy in a day full of rain clouds is someone you need to keep close.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
