Being a new vegan can be difficult. Is takeout even a thing? What can I eat on a road trip that's quick and easy? Where can I eat in the middle of the south? These are all legitimate questions. Luckily, some very smart people also realized this, and decided to help us out via your handy dandy app store.

1. Is It Vegan?

Even once you have the hang of being vegan and don't need the app, still download it on your parent's, partner's, or friend's phones. This app is super handy when food shopping or picking out surprise chocolates for your vegan friends! Just scan the bar code of an item and the app analyzes each ingredient and let's you know what, if any, ingredients are not vegan.

2. Bunny Free.

This app is adorable and animal friendly! It lets you know what companies do or don't test on animals, so you never have to potentially sacrifice your principles for makeup or clothes.

3. Vegetarious.

Ever been in a strange city and not felt like reading through 600 Yelp reviews to find out if there's even one vegan option on a menu? Well, now you don't have to! This app will tell you based on your location, all the vegan/vegetarian options surrounding you.

4. Animal-Free.

This app provides a large database of all animal based ingredients, so next time there's a weird word on a pack of gum, you'll know what it is and how it may affect your vegan lifestyle.

5. Roaming Hunger.

Do you live in a big city? Well, this app shows you in real time where virtually more than 800 food trucks are, making it much easier to track down a veg-friendly one.

6. 21-Day Vegan Kickstart.

An easy way to transition into veganism and improve your health. This app helps plan plant-based, delicious meals for every day of the week while also providing encouragement to keep on track.

7. Food Truth.

This gives nutritional information about 100 plus ingredients, and provides three recipes to use with the foods. Afraid because you don't know how to cook? No problem! Food Truth ranges in levels from "cinch" to "simple" to "sensational".

8. Good Guide.

Another great app that helps us navigate the intense cleaning and makeup isles! Good Guide helps find environmentally friendly and animal-free products for the spring cleaning vegan.

9. Vegan Xpress.

If you're on the road and in need of a meal in chain restaurant central, fear no more! This app tells you what is and is not vegan at national chain restaurants and fast food places.

Don't see the type you're looking for? There are even more apps out there if you look. Vegan apps have become a thing, and they're amazing. Whether you're a new vegan or old, you have to check these out!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
