The first ten years of the 2000s were a decade that most of us wish we could forget for many different reasons. The fashion is one that we hope will never come back into style. The music industry launched a variety of solo careers, which meant band breakups. No Doubt became Gwen Stafani, *NSYNC became Justin Timberlake, Destiny's Child became Beyonce, and my heart became broken. Television wise, Jamie Lynn Spears got knocked up and ended Zoey 101 for all of us. All of these tragic events are worth forgetting but there are 9 comedies from the first decade that are worth remembering. So whether you've never seen them before or want to laugh-out-loud again, here is your next rainy day movie lineup!

1. Dukes of Hazzard (2005)

Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott and Jessica Simpson are cousins who sell moonshine in a small southern country where the law is not on their side.

2. Sugar and Spice (2001)

When cheerleading captain Diane get pregnant, her squad of six plan to rob their local bank to get money for Diane and her boyfriend, James Marsden. Cheerleaders attempting to rob a bank? What more can I say!

3. Napoleon Dynamite (2004)

A movie about the life of an awkward high school teenager, sounds boring, but it's one of Jon Heder's most iconic roles. It's also one of the most quoted movies, freakin' idiot.

4. Blades of Glory (2007)

Will Ferrell, Jon Heder, Amy Poehler, Jenna Fischer, and Will Arnett all star in this figure skating spoof where two enemies, Ferrell and Heder, are forced to pair up in the coupled skating competition

5. Undercover Brother (2002)

Eddie Griffin, Chris Kattan, Denise Richards and a young Neil Partick Harris star in the 70s feel, action packed comedy where the Brotherhood has to take down The Man in order to save the world.

6. Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004)

Peter, Vince Vaughn, owns a low key gym and when White's, Ben Stiller, globally known gym tries to take it over, Peter and his colleagues enter a dodgeball contest to win money to keep his gym.

7. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006)

Ricky Bobby, Will Ferrell, is a Nascar driver who gets into an accident and refuses to continue racing. With the help of his mother, Jane Lynch, and his team, Ricky starts to recover only to find out his wife left him for his best friend Cal, John Reilly.

8. Josie and the Pussycats (2001)

Everyone knows Josie and the Pussycats, the musical girl group cartoon from the 80s. But in this movie, the girls sign a record deal and find themselves in the middle of a pop culture conspiracy.

9. The Benchwarmers (2006)

The all-star cast of David Spade, Jon Heder, Rob Schneider, Jon Lovitz and Nick Swardson come together for a movie about 3 grown men who play in a baseball tournament with 12 year olds.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours.
