9 Essentials You Need For Penn State Tailgates This Season

With fall semester right around the corner, we're all preparing ourselves for another great year at Penn State. This means new classes, moving into apartments, buying books, packing, and plenty more.

However, PSU students are worried about something much more important than any of that. We're all super excited because fall semester means FOOTBALL, and who isn't ready to cheer our Nittany Lions on for another killer season? Let's not forget the best part about football season—

the tailgates. To get ready to join nearly 100,000 other fans swarming the Lions Stadium, here are a few essentials you'll need for this tailgating season:

1. Cheap alcohol

As much as we all hate it, we still love it deep down. No reason to buy expensive fancy alcohol that will get spilled, skunked, or thrown back up in a few hours. Stick to the cheap vodka and Natty Light.

2. Spirit accessories

Are you really a Penn State fan if you aren't decked out in Penn State accessories? Make sure you have your bows, beads, and lion ears ready for the games this season!

3. Perfect game day outfit

This is literally the most exciting part of game days—

making the perfect game day outfit. Whether it's a T-shirt dress or the DIY top you made, you take so much pride in the perfect PSU football game day gear.

4. A big appetite

If you're an avid tailgater, you know just how much amazing food is being grilled around the tailgate fields. So make sure you come hungry!

5. Your dirtiest Chucks

Not exactly sure why white shoes are the go-to shoes for tailgates, daylongs, or even parties in general...but rain or shine, we tailgate, and things DO get messy. So break out your favorite party Chucks!

6. Good Music

Why wait until you get into the stadium to jam out to PSU's favorite hype songs? Get the party started outside!

7. Your whole crew

A tailgate isn't a tailgate if you aren't raging with your best buds. These memories will last a lifetime so share them with the people who mean the most.

8. Tailgate games

Beer pong, corn hole, flip cup...

There are so many games to play at a tailgate, making it even more fun.

9. Hype for the game

IF you are physically capable of actually making it into the game after the pre-game festivities, make sure you have your game face on and your poms ready. If time runs out on the clock and you still have a perfectly intact voice, you did it wrong.

LET'S GO LIONS!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
