9 Emotions Every Intern Experiences As Told By Grey's Anatomy

It may not be brain surgery with McDreamy, but it's still emotionally draining.

Interning is a great way to gain experience in the field of your choice and network with people who actually know what they're doing. But it can also induce a roller coaster of emotions, and while it may not be open-heart surgery, the Grey's Anatomy cast may be able to help me elaborate on the 9 emotions every intern experiences.

1. THE FIRST-DAY-INITIAL-FREAKOUT

You're in an outfit you're probably not comfortable in, in an environment you're definitely not accustomed to, and you're smiling like a weirdo. Hopefully first impressions aren't everything.

2. WHEN YOU'RE GIVEN A NEW TASK AND DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE DOING

This is probably the worst feeling ever. You have no idea what they're asking you do so you just smile and walk away and hope you can figure it out or find a nice-looking employee.

3. WHEN YOU REALIZE YOU'RE NOT GETTING PAID

*sad face*, *shovels down ramen noodles*.

4. WHEN THE BOSS ASKS YOU WHAT YOU'RE DOING

I don't know what i'm doing, but I'm giving it all I have.

5. WHEN YOU SAY SOMETHING REALLY EMBARRASSING

From time to time we interns slip and say something totally mortifying. When this happens, and it will, just shake it off and forget it ever happened.

6. WHEN YOU DON'T GET A LUNCH BREAK

And you definitely don't want to see me when I get hangry.

7. WHEN YOU'RE BORED AND TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

*sigh*

8. WHEN YOU AND THE OTHER INTERNS TEAM UP

You may know nothing, you may be getting paid nothing, and you may be competing against each other for a job... but that doesn't mean you can't work together at least a little bit.

9. WHEN YOU'VE MADE IT THROUGH THE FIRST WEEK

Sure you may have dropped your coffee twice and messed up a couple reports, but you've made it through your first week as an intern and that is definitely cause for celebration. So go hit up Joe's Bar or your favorite local pub and celebrate the fact that you have survived.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
