As college students, our minds are constantly battling ideas of grades, careers and crossing the bridge into adulthood. And when times get rough, I often wish I could go back in time and embrace my childhood. Back when choosing whether you wanted a MyScene or a Brat for Christmas was the hardest decision you had to make. And while we all know we can’t go back in time, bringing these TV shows back would at least give us an escape from reality and a journey back in our minds to when things were easy.
Here are a list of nine Disney Channel TV shows we would all love back in 2016 in order of importance:
9. Phil of the Future
When a family from the future is stranded in the 21st Century after its time machine breaks down, Phil of the Future emerges. Phil struggles to keep the fact that he is from the future a secret while he attends high school. However, he confides in his best friend Keely.
8. Suite Life of Zack and Cody
Suite Life of Zack and Cody explores the adventures of twin brothers Zack and Cody as they live in the Tipton Hotel. They make friends with ditsy London Tipton and studious Maddie Fitzpatrick. After making a mess of the hotel, they spend most of their time escaping the punishments of hotel manager Mr. Moseby.
7. Wizards of Waverly Place
Wizards of Waverly Place followed a family of wizards, hiding their magic from the real world. Teenagers Alex, Justin and Max make their way through high school causing mayhem when unable to control their powers. Viewers always held their breath at what Alex’s goofball best friend Harper would wear next.
6. Proud Family
The Proud Family is filled with loud and aggressive personalities. Oscar acts as an over protective father to his 14-year-old daughter Penny. Through all the teenage drama, Penny tries to save herself from embarrassment by her crazy family.
5. Even Stevens
Even Stevens helped remind us that all families have their quirks. The show revolves around the clashing personalities of siblings Donnie, the muscle builder, Ren, the bookworm, and Louis, the rambunctious little brother.
4. Kim Possible
Kim Possible was able to fight evil while also keeping her best friend, Ron Stoppable, in the friend-zone throughout most of the series. She acted as a strong, female lead that young girls could look up to. And who could forget our favorite naked mole rat, Rufus.
3. Hannah Montana
Hannah Montana showed its viewers that living a secret life as a pop star can give you the “Best of Both Worlds.” Through songs, adventures with her best friends Lily and Oliver and being indecisive on which boy to date, Hannah lived the life we all wished we could have.
2. Lizzie McGuire
Lizzie McGuire taught us how to survive middle school with her best friends Miranda and Gordo by her side. We watched Lizzie buy her first bra, flirt with the less-than-intelligent Ethan Craft and defeat mean girl Kate Sanders.
1. That’s So Raven
The most important for revival, That’s So Raven. This show was filled with laughs, lessons and leaps into the future. Raven’s big personality got her into some sticky situations that left us wondering what mess she would make next. But some episodes also left us with some great lessons, like the time Raven got turned down to model her own designs because she is considered too overweight. But she persevered.
