It's no secret that we're living in a right-handed world. Almost every product is made with right-handed people in mind. I've always heard that left handed people have a high chance of injuring themselves by using a product intended for a right handed person, and the more I use scissors and knives, the more I believe it. I always tell people being left-handed is one of the most inconvenient things to ever happen to me and I'm backing it up with these common struggles us lefties face.
1. Can Openers
Can openers have always been the bane of my existence. I will do everything in my power to avoid using them.
2. College Lecture Halls
Walking in and going on a quest for the two or three left handed desks out of the 150+ desks in the room is always fun. I always die a little inside when I see a right-handed person sitting at one of those mythical desks.
3. Three Ring Binders
I don't get behind in note taking because I'm a slow writer; I get behind because I keep having to adjust my arm in between the rings.
4. Smudge Hand
Us left-handed people drag our hand across when we're writing, so naturally, we take the ink with us.
5. Dry-Erase Boards
Good luck trying to see what we wrote because chances are we erased it as we were writing it.
6. Signing for deliveries.
I guess only right-handed people are supposed to get things delivered to them because it is nearly impossible to sign your name on those machines.
7. Handshakes
These are just awkward for everyone involved.
8. Pens
Because of the way we write, a lot of pens don't work for us.
9. Right-Handed People's Reactions
You guys always tell us how creative we are, and tell us who you know who is also a leftie, and ask if we can do anything with our right hand.
These just a few of the many struggles left-handed people face. We're just trying to survive your right-handed world.
