Watching a movie is one of my favorite ways to wind down on a weeknight. To no one's surprise, I seem to watch the same ones over and over again. The term "comfort movies" has been popularized on Tik Tok, and it made me realize that's what I should call the movies I watch 100 times! These 9 movies are my go-to pick and make for a perfect night in, however I'm definitely not saying all of them are that great.

1. "The Fault In Our Stars" (2014)

This is the movie adaptation of the book written by John Green, and for me, it's a middle school classic. I went to the midnight showing with my friends in sixth grade and used an entire box of tissues because I cried so hard. If you don't want to cry, I don't recommend this one, but if you do, oh boy will it hit the spot. And no movie made in 2014 can be complete without Shaliene Woodley and Ansel Elgort right?

2. "Remember Me" (2010)

"Remember Me" made me realize that Robert Pattinson can play roles other than creepy vampire Edward Cullen. In this Romance/Drama he plays a college student that has no idea what he's doing in life, but falls in love with the daughter of a police officer. I must warn you though, the ending will make your head spin.

3. "Hot Summer Nights" (2017)

Set In the 80's, this crime/drama starring Timothee Chalamet is the perfect combination. His character, Daniel, gets shipped off to Cape Cod for the summer and finds himself caught up in dealing drugs. However, no teen drama is complete without a love story, as Daniel begins to fall for his business partner's little sister. Based on the summary I'm sure we can all assume there is no happy endings here.

4. "The Kissing Booth" (2018)

This movie is one of the worst teenage rom-coms ever created, but something about it just keeps me coming back. Maybe because it's so bad? Joey King and Jacob Elordi act alongside each other as a Noah and Elle, a high school jock and nerdy girl duo, while trying to keep their relationship a secret from Elle's best friend who is also Noah's little brother. If i'm feeling a super cheesy Netflix rom-com this is always my go to.

5. "Coco" (2017)

A classic children's movie that makes me cry every time. The catchy songs and the Spanish culture make "Coco" so adorable that it keeps me coming back. It's one of Disney's newer kids's movies and It's so good it even won an Academy Award.

6. "Grease" (1978)

This movie really brings out the theatre geek in me. If I ever want to watch a movie with my mom, this is one I know we'll both enjoy. Classic actors, classic songs, and every stereotype about the 60's you could ever imagine. John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John make the most amazing leads, and it's so enjoyable to watch their retro love story come to life through singing and dancing.

7. "Geek Charming" (2011)

Who doesn't love a Disney Channel original movie? This is another super cliche, popular girl and super geeky guy situation, which seems to be a trend for me. A guilty pleasure movie at it's finest, where film student, Josh, attempts to make a movie about the most popular girl at his school. And of course, they might just fall in love.

8. "One Direction: This Is Us" (2013)

Nothing brings back nostalgia like attempting to re-live the day I saw this movie for the first time. A little documentary moment never hurt anybody right? Especially when it includes live clips of One Direction in their prime. The movie follows their journey from being on the X-Factor, to playing huge arenas around the world. It also gives a look into what it's like being so famous, that you're pulled from your family and to the spotlight at the age of 16.

9. "Inside Out" (2015)

When you're feeling overwhelmed and need someone to explain emotions to you like you're five, this is it. "Inside Out" will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between. It focuses on a young girl named Riley, and how her emotions adapt to the changes she goes through while growing up. The characters are adorable and now every time I get mad I can think of a cute little red guy screaming in my head!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
