9 Classes You Take That Aren't In The Course Catalog

1) Intro to Roommates

Course Description: You will be stuck in a tiny dorm room with a person you have probably never met before, and you will be expected to learn how deal with them. Love them? It’ll be a breeze, and you will have tons of fun going out with them and even sharing the occasional snuggle. Hate them? Good luck asking why she slept in your bed and ate your food while you were out of town for the weekend.

2) Intermediate Partying

Course Description: It’s a Friday night, or a Monday night, or any night of the week, and you are ready to party. There is a pre-game at your friend’s place and then you’re going to hit the bars! There is a chance that the cute boy in your Calculus will be at the your friend's place, so you’re going to pre-game the pre-game… just to loosen up. You have an 8:30 a.m. class tomorrow, but you went to all of your classes today so you earned this night out, right? Some say this is the easiest class to pass in college.

3) Advanced Cramming

Course Description: Okay, so you have a Calculus exam, a Chemistry exam, and an Economics exam Monday. Today is Friday. If you study an hour for each exam today, not at all Saturday, and all day Sunday after you get out of bed at noon, that means you can go out tonight, Saturday night, and be ready for your exams on Monday; Perfect!

4) Passing RA Room Inspections 101

Course Description: It is time to leave your beloved dorm, but first you need to pass your room inspection. Try to leave before your roommate — less for you to do. Also, have an RA of the opposite sex check your room so you can try to mask the sight of your wrecked dorm with your charm and charisma. Remember, it's all about making it look clean, not actually cleaning it.

5) Tailgating 101: Dos and Don'ts

Course Description:Do: Wake up at the crack of dawn to start festivities, wear your school colors, take cute pictures with your sorority sisters. Don’t: Drink too much at 6 a.m., make out with whoever you want (you are outside in broad daylight, not in a dimly party).

6) Tailgating 201: Making It To the Game

Course Description: Follow-up course to Tailgating 101. You've learned how to tailgate properly, now you must figure out how to actually make it to the game. In this course, you'll learn how to hold your liquor, look sober in front of police officers, and how best to conceal a flask when going through security at the stadium.

7) Honors Laundry

Course Description: In this course you will learn how long you can go without doing laundry and still have clothes to wear and how many times you can wear the same shirt before the kid who sits next to you in class notices.

8) Intro to Long Distance Relationships

Course Description: This will challenge you to improve your communication and dedication skills. It is tough to keep in contact with your hometown friends while you’re making all of these new ones, but it is important. They know you better than anyone, but it is easy to forget about them at times.

9) Intro to Diversity

Course Description: While at college, you will meet people that are different than you. A lot of them will be. The challenge here is not to identify the differences, but it is to accept people’s differences and believe that they will accept you too.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement.
