Halfway through the summer, I have been motivated by the following books to position my life. Here are 10 of my favorites. They have all changed my life, big or small, and I am here to share the change with you.

1. Tuesdays With Morrie

“Death ends a life, not a relationship.”
Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

Six years ago, I read "Tuesdays with Morrie" to complete my school's reading assignment. Throughout the years, this book has preached on love, death, happiness, emotions, and more. Schedule a regular meeting to reflect on your life and walk through the book with Morrie on Tuesdays.

2. The Five People You Meet in Heaven

“All endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time.”
Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet In Heaven

Another classic from Mitch Albom: "Who Will Be The Five People You Meet In Heaven?" Ever since I first read this book, I have started to rethink my interactions with people around me.

3. When Breath Becomes Air

“You can’t ever reach perfection, but you can believe in an asymptote toward which you are ceaselessly striving.”
Paul Kalanithi, When Breath Becomes Air

The endeavors, the struggle, the overachieving dream -- all resonate with my core values of life. Read this elegant masterpiece of a great neurosurgeon and believer who traversed towards death and selflessly shared his story with the world.

4. The Opposite of Loneliness

“What we have to remember is that we can still do anything. We can change our minds. We can start over.”

Marina Keegan, The Opposite of Loneliness: Essays and Stories

Her essays and journals sincerely portray the life of an uncertain and thoughtful rising star. My favorite passages are Cold Pastoral, Winter Break, Stability in Motion, and the Song For the Special.

5. Storytelling With Data

This storytelling guidebook demonstrates how to visualize data and be a better storyteller. More information on storytellingwithdata.com.

6. Never Eat Alone

Networking Guru Keith Ferrazzi shares his secrets to building successful relationships. This book clearly demonstrates how to "ping" people and become the king of content. Check out the other effective strategies in his book!

7. The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People

"Begin with the end in mind." --Stephen R. Covey

Build the seven habits from being proactive to sharpening the saw. Write your mission statement. This is a book essential for success in all endeavors.

8. Remember Who You Are

This book chronicles lessons from each last lecture at Harvard Business School. Aside from all the achievements, what is the most important thing in life?

9. The Naked Roommate

Easy read and highly recommended for freshman college students. The book answers almost all the issues you have for college.

Plan an afternoon reading time and make a schedule with each of them. Happy Summer!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
