If you are a follower of Jesus Christ you have access to God any time of any day. Here are nine scriptures to use when your day could use a little pick-me-up!

1. Isaiah 44:22, "I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me because I am your rescuer." (God)

2. Psalm 18:1, "I love you Lord; you make me strong." (prayer)

3. Luke 15:20, "The younger son got up and started back to his father. But when he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt sorry for him. He ran to his son and hugged and kissed him."

4. Romans 8:28, "We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose."

5. Romans 12:21, "Do not let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good."

6. 2 Corinthians 3:14, "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the friendship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."

7. James 4:17, "If you don't do what you know is right, you have sinned."

8. Psalm 147:1, "Shout praises to the LORD! Our God is kind, and it is right and good to sing praises to him."

9. Psalm 51:10, "Make my heart clean God, and help me be faithful." (prayer)

"Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life." - Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
