I love a good Urban Decay eyeshadow palette as much as the next girl. But for an every day look, high-end makeup isn't really practical or necessary. Here are a few of my favorite drugstore beauty products that are both affordable and good-quality.

1. NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer - $6

Before finding this concealer, I swore by Too Faced concealer... but this NYX concealer is super comparable to a high-end concealer. It goes on super smooth, and builds easily. AND it's waterproof!

2. Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara - $7

This mascara gives your lashes a great mix of length and volume. The brush is super easy to use and lets you get every lash.

3. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - $5

This is my absolute favorite powder for oily skin. It doesn't go on cakey, and doesn't make me look orange.

4. NYX Dark Circle Concealer - $6

I've been using this under-eye concealer for 3 years, and can't say enough good things about it. It holds up to rain and sweat, and still looks good after a full day of work or class.

5. Physician's Formula Eye Enhancing Shadow and Liner - $6

This palette is available for green, blue, and brown eyes, and comes with colors that complement each eye color. I have the green eye palette and love using the purple as an eyeliner, or using the beige and brown to do a light smokey eye. Overall, this is a super versatile palette that can be used every day or for special events.

6. Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm - $4

If you don't have it, you need it. This lip balm has been my go-to for years now. It smells amazing, it's smooth, and it's super moisturizing.

7. Elf Champagne Baked Eyeshadow - $3

A swipe of this over your lids, some mascara, and you're done! This eyeshadow gives a super put-together look without costing a lot of time or money.

8. NYX Slide on Pencil - $8

These liners are super smooth and pigmented, and the perfect cross between a pencil and a liquid liner. They're awesome for the eyelid or for waterlining!

9. NYC Color Wheel Blush - $5

This blush is super easy to build and to create different color mixes. You can use this product to create a super intense look, or just a light dust.

Happy shopping!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
