9 Activities To Shake Up Summer Nights

Summer is easily a favorite season for many people. It is the time of year where we can be carefree and adventurous... at least outside of those summer internships and jobs. Possibly the only thing better than those summer days spent by the pool are those summer nights. Sometimes without the sun the fun can be lost.

1. Take a night drive with the windows down and the music blasting.

It is a pretty safe bet that most people have done this. If you have the perfect playlist and you are with your best friends then you are guaranteed to have a good time. Plus there is nothing better than the wind whipping through your hair.

2. Add some sparkle to a volleyball game with Christmas lights.

If you and your friends are athletic and even if you guys are not this is a great way to keep the night going, especially if you are near the beach. Gather a group of your friends and spend a few hours playing volleyball. A night swim would feel so great after.

3. Go stargazing.

Take a night off from technology and go stargazing. Drive out of your city limits or lie on the beach and look at the stars. If you are far away enough from city lights you may be surprised how many shooting stars you will see.

4. Have a campfire and make s'mores.

If you are fortunate enough to live in an area where your summer nights are cooler, then this is the perfect nighttime activity. Put together a nice, relaxing playlist and invite your closet friends over for a s'mores bar.

5. Spend the night out on a trampoline.

Take it back to the days when you were little with a sleepover on the trampoline. It is the perfect low-key thing to do if you are just sitting around at home. To make things more interesting hang a sheet on the side of your house and project a movie.

6. Go to a drive-in movie.

Going along with the movie theme, take a date to the drive-in movies. They are more uncommon nowadays, but are a lot of fun to go to every once in a while. Hit up your local gas station, stock up on snacks, and go catch a movie and the drive-in theatre.

7. Have a nighttime picnic.

Pack a dinner for you and a date and take a drive to somewhere neither of you have been before. Unpack your picnic and enjoy it under the stars.

8. Go night swimming.

I think it is safe to say that this one is obvious.

9. Watch the sunset.

Start your summer night off on the perfect note by watching the sunset. It does not matter if you are in the middle of nowhere, lying on the beach, or in the comfort of your own backyard, the sunset will be gorgeous.

There are so many fun things to do in the summer. Most of the time we only think about what we can do with our summer days. In reality, our nights may be more exciting and they hold some of the most memorable experiences for us. Take advantage of your entire summer.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
