Fifteen years ago when I was only 3-years-old, the world changed forever. It appeared to be a normal Tuesday morning, but 19 terrorists associated with Al-Qaeda had other plans — 2,296 people were killed, and 6,000 were injured on this day. People lost husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, moms and dads.
This day is the worst act of terrorism the world has ever seen. Planes were hijacked buildings destroyed and lives changed forever. It took firefighters 100 days to fully put out all flames caused by the attacks in New York. It took nine months to clean up the wreckage of the World Trade Center. Respiratory problems started developing quickly for those in and around the World Trade Center during and after the attack. This day caused the world to come together as one. Everyone helped everyone.
We can't let this day be forgotten. We as a nation have to bind together again with all of the insight into the mass shootings that have occurred over the past few years. Terrorists are constantly trying to attack other parts of the world. 9/11 is a prime example of this. We have to stay bound together. We have to stop thinking as separates and think as one. To the families who lost loved ones, I'm sincerely sorry. To the world: Never let 9/11 be forgotten. We can do this by:
1. Stopping the fighting for stupid reasons and against each other and come together as one.
2. Praying. Pray for the families affected and lives lost. Pray for the nation. Pray for our leaders.
3. Keeping the story alive. It doesn't need to stop being spread after the generations that experienced it past on.
4. Honoring the day. Every year we celebrate Christmas, Halloween, birthdays, etc. If we can celebrate on those days we can honor this one.
9/11 will never be forgotten.
