1. She always knows exactly what to say and do.

No matter what is is she is always the one to say exactly what you need to hear (maybe not always what we want to hear) but she is usually right too. No matter what it is she is the person you go to when you need the best advice.

2. She is your therapist, doctor, best friend and mom all in one.

Whatever obstacle comes along she takes on the job that any requires. She is there whether you are sick, sad or in need of your best friend. She is always the person to take on any job because thats what moms are for.

3. She is the one you go to when no one else understands.

When no one else gets what you may be going through she is always the one who understands because our moms know us better than anyone else and can relate to us more because of that.

4. She is the best person to help you through a broken heart because she herself has been there.

When you go through the worst breakup she is always the one who knows how to help because she has been there. Through her wisdom she gives us the advice that truly helps when we are broken hearted.

5. She has showed you what kind of mother you want your future children to have.

She makes you want to be the most amazing mother to your own kids one day because of how fortunate you were to have one like her. You somehow know that when you have kids you will be a lot like your mom in her parenting methods.

6. She always believes in you and what you can accomplish.

Ever since you were a child and wanted to be a rockstar all the way until the colleges you apply for, your mom never doubts you and always makes you feel like you can do anything. Whether its a mothers gift to make her child feel special or just the inherent faith your parents have in you, their belief in you is everything.

7. You catch yourself acting exactly like her almost daily.

You see yourself doing and saying things your mom does almost daily. Whether this is a good or a bad sign to you, it shows how much we get from our parents and how similar we really are whether we want to admit it or not. I am more like my mother than I have ever imaged and I wouldn't change that for the world.

8. She is the strongest woman you know.

She has been through things that you could never image being able to withstand. She has time and time again showed you how important it is to be a strong and independent woman in tis world. She has given you the little bit of strength you need to see your worth in life. If she has taught you how important it is to be strong and have self respect she is definitely your best friend.

I am so thankful that I was able to grow up with such a strong female role model in my life because that has made me who I am today. So mom, you are definitely my best friend.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
