8 Ways To Spice Up Your Apartment For Fall

It's that time of the season! Pumpkin spice has taken over, so you have got to get your apartment in the festive season as well. My roommate and I did these things to spice up our apartment:

1) Add some decorative pumpkins to your coffee table or as a centerpiece. You can buy them pre-decorated, or buy a wooden one to paint yourself from Hobby Lobby.

2) Fall-themed flowers are a tasteful yet festive addition to any room. To create your own, fill a mason jar or vase with straw and arrange fake flowers of your choice in it. Dollar Tree actually has a great selection of fake flowers.

3) Gel window stickers are a simple way to change your apartment style with minimal effort. Leaves are great for fall, but Halloween stickers are sure to scare your suite mates.

4) Fake spider webs add some spooky flare during October. You can get a bag at Dollar Tree for $1 with enough web for the whole apartment... if you want to get that crazy.

5) Drape some twinkle lights around your curtain rod or lamps. Around October, stores usually sell orange or purple lights for the Halloween season.

6) Make DIY leaf magnets. Go outside to pick your favorite fallen leaves, then laminate them. Cut the leaves out and glue magnets on the back, then put them on your fridge! If you aren't that creative, order these off of Amazon.

7) Burn a fall-scented candle. Or if your apartment doesn't allow candles, melt it on a candle warmer.

8) Lastly, if you live in a dorm, go all out and decorate your door. Go with a autumn theme, or scare your neighbors with some Halloween gore.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
