As an incoming freshman, I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing when it comes to college. I don't have any experience and the fall semester is already fast approaching. If you're looking for terrible advice on how to be a successful student, this list is a perfect fit.
1. Stress out a lot
College hasn't even begun and you're already stressing out about the future. Continue to stress out over nothing if you want to make things worse for yourself.
2. Spend all of your money on supplies
You're going to need 1000 pencils and pens, 500 folders and 500 notebooks, all for your five or six classes.
3. Forget to pack until the last minute
After staring at the calendar, you remember that tomorrow had some significance to it, but you can't remember what. Then you realize: it's move in day, and your suitcase is empty. Now go and pack your entire bedroom.
4. Pack literally everything
Once you've finished frantically packing, you take a deep breath and come to another realization: your suitcase is bigger than the car. Time to start over.
5. Overload your schedule
You will totally have a mental breakdown and will definitely need to talk to a therapist if you're taking classes in the double digits, especially if you're an incoming freshman and have no clue what to do.
6. Expect college to be a breeze
No lollygagging? Please, you go out there and lollygag as much as you want. Who needs to form good study habits? Not you! Do whatever you want, whenever you want. It'll only cost you your grades and future.
7. Join every club on campus
Every club sounds like fun, so why not join all of them? If you're looking for a life where you have no minute to yourself whatsoever, then go ahead. Join them. Join them all.
8. Don't talk to anyone
Do you want to spend your college days completely alone and helpless? Do you want to be surrounded by strangers all the time, never becoming friends with anyone new? Then shut up, act extremely awkward and don't speak to any classmates.
Using this list will give you several disadvantages when attending college and I hope you don't take my advice and do the exact opposite of what was recommended. Good luck.
