8 Ways To Start The New Semester Fresh

College students sometimes dread coming back to campus because they think it will be the same as they left it. The truth is, you may be gone for a month, but this semester will be completely different than the last one. Here are some ways to help you start fresh to a new semester.

1. Make new friends

You may have a group of friends you already hang out with and love, but sometimes you may want to make some new friends. Maybe someone in your class or just someone you would like to talk to. This can help make the semester feel new by adding a new face to your friend group.

2. Try something new

Join a new club on campus that you have always wanted to try out. That is another way to make friends, and maybe you will love it and stick with it for the rest of college!

3. Exercise more or switch up your routine

There are some people who have never thought about stepping into a gym or a fitness center, but maybe this semester is the time to start. Rather than sitting in your room during your down time, try and beat that freshman fifteen! Also, if you exercise regularly, maybe try a new routine. Switch up the machines you use or try a new machine and work on a different part of your body.

4. Study harder

I know, this one you probably hear a lot from maybe peers and professors, but this one is a great one to increase your GPA and get better grades! Even if you are studying pretty hard, maybe try a new location to study, to see if it helps you focus more.

5. BE BOLD

This goes along with trying something new, but it also has it's own category. Get your name out there, whether it is running for a position in a club, or trying to perform in a talent show, get your name out there and let people know that you are there!

6. Get more sleep

All college students take sleep for granted. Sleep is a beautiful thing to keep you feeling refreshed and ready to take on any day. The more sleep you get, the better you are. Make some more time this semester to get a good nights sleep rather than binge a new show.

7. Stick to plans

We all have things that come up in our lives, but try and stay committed to things you have already promised to do. If you plan to do your homework for a few hours, don't put it off to go out with friends. Manage your time well, and keep your commitments.

8. Overall, be yourself

Never change who you are. You may be trying out new things and making new friends, but never give up who you truly are just to try and have a fresh start. You can do that without compromising.

Have a great semester!

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
