Taking time for you is important.

7 Ways to Make Time For You

With school, clubs, work, sports, family, friends, and boyfriends it can be really hard to focus on the person who is becoming exhausted. "Me Time'' is HUGE and so important but yet for how easy it could be to do, we make it a lot harder than it needs to be. With a few ideas, you will be feeling replenished, happy, and healthy without even trying.

1. READ SOMETHING.

Whether or not we love to read, or we absolutely hate it, reading clears your mind and takes you to other places. My favorite things to read are poems, Bible Verses, cheesy romance novels or even Buzzfeed quizzes. Literally, anything to just take a time out on your choice and read something for pleasure will help more than you even know.

2. Journal

Journaling is something hard to keep up with if it hasn't become a habit, but it can be some of the most stress relieving tactics ever. Whether you're writing about the whole day, or just jotting down something that makes you happy or sad, writing is something that can be so powerful. Try writing lists about what you're grateful for, highs and lows for the day, what you want to accomplish, or even dreams and goals. Getting the mind focused on what you're actually feeling makes you start to feel so much better.

3. GET SOME EXCERCISE

Working out always makes you feel better. It will make you feel more confident and better about yourself it also relieves a lot of stress. Do a workout whether its core, running, or dancing around the house, do it. Sweat the stress out.

4. Laugh

Whether you're making yourself laugh or you're watching funny movies, laughing is the best medicine as cliche as it sounds.

5. Make a Phone Call

Call someone who you haven't talked to in a while and catch up. Whether it's a parent, a sibling or an old friend, catching up and having an excuse to talk about yourself can be helpful and healing. Also, it just feels good to catch up someone you haven't talked to in awhile.

6. Dance Party Alone

This will make you feel silly at first, but it is so fun. Not only will you feel confident, but you will be able to smile and laugh at yourself has so much healing in it. Sing and dance to your favorite artist and just let go and let loose. Take a few minutes to be yourself and have fun.

7. Spoil Yourself

Whether it's buying yourself a coffee, a cute outfit, or taking yourself on a date alone, spoiling yourself and showing you how much your appreciated can really switch your mood. Take yourself to get your favorite ice cream and devour it without feeling guilty because you deserve it!

Making yourself a priority in your life will make you able to give to others. If you're giving 100% to everything else and not yourself, it's hard to put energy in what you love. If you don't repay yourself for all the hard work you do, you will not reach your full potential. You deserve to be as great as you are all the time! Start giving yourself what you deserve.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
