8 Ways You Know You're A Fangirl And Proud Of It

If you know what the words "ASDFGHJKL" "Ship" and "Fanbase" mean, then you're probably a fangirl.

8 Ways You Know You're A Fangirl And Proud Of It

1. You know your faves entire life story.

You know your favorite celebrity's entire life probably better than they do. You know their entire family lineage and how they celebrated each of their birthdays. You know where they are every day and when they go on hiatus you feel like a part of you is missing. You know the background to every story they tell on TV and everything they talk about at interviews is old news to you. Some people probably find this stalker-ish but you find this completely normal.

2. You have at least one social media account dedicated to fangirling over their every move.

Your fanbase has a name. Mine is the Lovatics. We love and support Demi with our whole heart and we very often compete with other fanbases. This creates a lot of drama, but its all part of it, right? When it all comes down to it we support each other just as much as we support our Demetria. You are obsessed with finding the perfect tattoo to symbolize your passion.

3. EVERYONE in your life knows about your obsession.

Somehow you are able to relate everything anyone says back to your fave. When your third cousin says, "I had the best slice of pizza last night," you are quick to respond with "OMG ____ LOVES PIZZA!!" Your entire family and friend group and high school know about your slightly crazy obsession and you often hear "Are you still obsessed with ___?"

4. When they're in town you clear your schedule.

You're the first one to find out their tour schedule and you save up all of your money just to see them. You have waited outside at 3 a.m. to see their appearances. At these moments it seems so worth it to wait hours to see them perform three songs.

5. And when they're not in town, you are very willing to travel just to see them.

You have probably traveled out of state or hours away just to see them perform. You have to get as much in as possible before they go on hiatus for six months. The feeling of standing in the same room, breathing the same air as your fave is a feeling that is indescribable to outsiders.

6. The feeling of meeting your fave is inexplicable.

You only know this feeling unless you are a fangirl. You plan a script of what you are going to say to them and then when it finally comes time for the big moment you completely freeze. Your heart is racing, you're sweating and the weather never seems to want to work with your hair. There's lots of crying and screaming and admiring and finding the perfect outfit is almost impossible.

7. You have probably spent a great deal of money on their merch.

Concert tickets, books, and merch are overpriced to say the least. You tell yourself it's worth it. When our fave comes out with a make-up line, you run to the store to buy it all up. Album releases and CD signings are to live for.

8. Meeting other people who are just as obsessed as you.

The second best thing to meeting your favorite celebrity is meeting other people who are just as obsessed as with your fave as you are. They get the drama, the funny inside jokes and everything in between. For my fellow Lovatics out there -- Demi Lavender, Maxx, What's your favorite dish?, Brazil, Timberline Knolls, Pledge, Dimon, Jemi, and of course, the infamous moment when she leaked her own nudes. You meet them on social media, but hanging out in person is so much more fun. Meeting them for the first time is magical.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
