In March, my brother ventured into the Midwest to visit me at the University of Michigan. Because it was Saint Patrick’s Day we got very lucky. It was 50 degrees and sunny! I showed him around and gave him a taste of college life I think will stay with him for a while. These are the best things available here.
1. How pretty the buildings are
You want to show the aesthetically pleasing walk to classes and the big and beautiful buildings all in a line together.
2. How cool and clean your room is (or isn't)
My 11x12 shoebox of a room seemed to still impress the highschooler. And yes there was enough room for an extra person to stay the night.
3. How good the food is
The fancy restaurants or even the late night snack places they deserve to see all the food options on the visit. Honestly even how good the dining hall can be or how bad it is some of the time.
4. How fun the greek life is
A sisterhood or brotherhood that is unbreakable it's good to show them the true relationships you have formed with so many people.
5. How fun the party's and darties are
My brother lucked out that he came for Saint Patrick's Day. There is not a single school in the country that parties better than here.
6. How cool your new friends are
The coolest most unique and kind people I have ever encountered are at the campus. Of course, I want to show that off to my visitor.
7. How much fun you have every day
Give them the normal day to day routine and show them how every day here is a great day. You know until finals szn.
8. And above all else why your little brother should follow you to the best school ever
The number one priority is to show your visitor or in my case my younger brother that he be making the best decision of his life to follow me here. And then we could spend countless more days on campus together.
