The 8 Types Of People You Will Meet In College

College is an experience you will never forget in your lifetime. You will meet every type of person possible from around the world. It is a great place to make friends and meet more diverse and remarkable set of people . Every person goes through a different journey throughout college, but every experience shapes them into who they will be when they graduate and head out into the “real world.” Three years ago I started my first year of college, and it has been a roller coaster of experiences, and I have met all types of people in classes, social gatherings, and all around Phoenix that each had a role in shaping who I am now. Learning why people are the way the way are and what experiences and life choices got them to where they are is one of the best learning experiences someone can partake in. Every college is different that is not even a question, but you will most likely meet the following people or at least encounter them.

1. The Bookworm

There are some people at college that actually study. Everything on the television and in movies is not that accurate... well at least not for everyone. It may be a surprise to some people when they hear some people do not party in college. Lets face it there may be more nerds out there than we realized!

2. The Stoners

They're are always that group of people that get 'lit' every other night, and always seem groggy or tired in class, and tend to stick to themselves.

3. The Know-it-all

If you have never been a part of an on-ground college course, and specifically a philosophy or ethics course, there is always one guy that seems to know everything. He or she is that person that will argue with the professor for the entire class, leaving everyone else upset they even came to class to learn nothing.

4. The Uncaged-bird

There are those really sheltered people who have never broken a rule or done anything wrong in their lives and when they get to college go crazy. The moment these certain individuals realize mom and dad are not around to tell them what not to do they go a little crazy.

5. The Fan-addicts

You know the people that can only talk to you about sports or sports statistics and how amazing their team is doing. I am usually just smiling and nodding at these people when they talk to me about their sports team. For some reason I must look like I know a lot about sports because people always start talking to me as if I know something about sports.

6. The Meat-heads

If you were to say "bruh do you even lift?" to the guy who has 0% body fat.

7. The Plastics

The people that always seem to have a perfect life on the outside, but as soon as you get close you see the insanity behind the beautiful face.

8. The Party Animals

If you are ever on a college campus walking around past midnight on a Friday or Saturday there is always some themed party everyone is going to (i.e. toga party, white out, Hawaiian, and any other reason people can find to drink)

What this all comes down to is that college is exactly what you make it. Sure you could go party every weekend, or go to sports games, bury your head in a book, but college is the place to figure who you are. Find your group of people that you enjoy doing life with and make memorable experiences that you will hold onto for the rest of your life.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
