Loving books is a way of life. It is. There are thoughts that go through our mind that others couldn't possibly understand. Well, I'm here to tell you the #truths of being a book lover.
1. We buy more books than we can read.
It's true. I, myself, have around 155 young adult books. Out of that, I've only read about 50. The rest are waiting, impatiently, to be read. We can't help it... There's always new books coming out, and we want them all!
2. We love to smell and feel our books.
Trust me, it's a thing. With new books, the smell of the paper and the ink... It's like I'm in heaven. We also feel them as well. Yes, we do both. No, it's not weird. I promise.
3. Thoughts of books help us save money.
When out shopping, there have been times when the following happens - Me: "Hmm, this looks cool. Maybe I should buy it." Mind: "But you could buy two paperback novels for the same price later on." Me: "Hmm, you're right! Better not." *drops the inconsequential item dramatically and precedes to walk away*
4. Thoughts of books also help us spend money.
But, just like they can help us save money, thoughts of books also lead us here, where we can spend a whole lot more without meaning to. (Going in with the intention of only buying one book, and then coming out with ten books, instead.)
5. We could spend all day in a bookstore and never get bored.
With the amount of books in a bookstore, I could spend all day looking at them. Can you just imagine all of the characters and worlds that are in a single bookstore? It's unfathomable! I love it. Ah, bookstores!
6. We have a list of fictional boyfriends/girlfriends.
Yes, I too have a list of fictional boyfriends... Fine, I will reveal one of the boys on my list. Étienne St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. He speaks French, has a British accent (even though I prefer Australian), is afraid of heights, and bites his nails (a habit that I also mildly have). So, basically, he's perfect!
7. We can sometimes stay up way too late reading.
Reading at night is a good way to go, but only if you have a certain amount of self control. If not, you could end up saying, "Just one more chapter," and reading until dawn by accident. I've done it more times than I can count!
8. We like to compare movie adaptations to the books.
We like to point out the differences to others, especially when we think it was done better in the books. When we do this with people who haven't read the books, it typically is to show how much you think they should read it for themselves. For example, my dad says, "I loved the first Twilight movie!" I'm sitting here like, "This didn't happen... That was totally different... This is NOT how this is supposed to go!"
I think this pretty much covers them, and every book lover may not do all of these things, but I sure do! Also, this picture pretty much sums everything up as well.
