In elementary school, the last thing you should worry about is other people's opinions of you. High school is so much worse than the 'hell' you think is elementary school. Good luck to you. Here are 8 things I wish I had told myself when I was in elementary school.
1. These Other Students Will Not Matter In 3 Years
The students who bother you every day of your school career will not matter in years to come. Things happen, people change, and life will go on as if nothing had ever happened.
2. What You Own Means Nothing
The new iPhone came out and you begged your mother forever to buy you one. But why? Just to fit in with the other kids who are given everything and anything they wanted? No. It means nothing to anyone else.
3. Popularity Means Nothing
In elementary school, popularity mean everything to you or someone you knew. You had a large friend group, but were they really your friends? The best way to find out is to lose everything you own. Popularity means nothing, especially if you cannot tell who your real friends are.
4. Your Appearance Does Not Matter
We go to school to learn and create a career out of what we do at the end of high school. Nobody will look at you and shame you for what you wear in elementary school, and if they do, they obviously don't know style.
5. Be Confident In Yourself
If you tried out for the baseball team last year, try out again. There is no shame in not giving up on yourself. Especially just because you didn't make a sports' team. The harder you try, the easier it will be.
6. Your Grades Shouldn't Discourage You
It's elementary school. That one test you took that you failed will mean nothing to you as the years progress. Keep your head up and keep trying, even if school isn't exactly your 'thing'. You will do just fine.
7. You Will Lose Friends
Not every friend you make is meant to stay your friend. You will fight, you will argue, and you probably will never speak ever again and that's perfectly fine. Again, keep your head up. You will meet plenty more people as you grow-up.
8. You Are Beautiful The Way You Are
Just because you have a little 'pudge' on your stomach does not mean you are considered 'ugly,' or 'unattractive.' You are beautiful exactly the way you are, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
