If you haven't finished watching "Gilmore girls: A Year in the Life" you need to. Don't read the rest of this article, go watch it. If you have finished watching the revival, it's time to admit Emily Gilmore was the star of the revival. Her character had so much development and basically shined in every scene. Emily Gilmore was hands down the best part of "A Year in the Life"
1. When she had the outburst with the D.A.R. ladies.
Emily Gilmore cursing. Emily Gilmore telling the ladies how it is. Everything about this scene was perfect and hilarious. One of the best scenes of all four episodes.
2. When we got to see Emily Gilmore wearing jeans.
Seeing Emily Gilmore in jeans was an Earth shattering moment. She's a classy lady and to see her running around her house in jeans was perfect.
3. When Emily told Lorelai off after Richard's funeral.
The showdown was much needed between the two. It was intense, but beautiful acting and Emily finally got to say everything to Lorelai she needed to.
4. When Emily questions Rory not having a steady living situation.
Emily seemed to be the only one to question Rory for her choices in the revival. She comforted her at the dinner about her living situation and was surprised to see Lorelai and Luke supporting it. She said what we were all thinking about Rory not having anything permanent.
5. When she finally kept a maid.
A running gag on the original series is that Emily can not keep a maid. However, in the revival, she finally keeps a maid. She even goes as far to let the maid's whole family move in with her and she helps take care of them.
6. When she moved to Nantucket and seemed to find joy once for all.
Emily's story in the revival is she can not find joy and does not know how to live her life now that Richard is gone. Seeing her move to Nantucket, taking her maid's family with her and appearing to find joy and peace was precious.
7. When she got the wall sized portrait of Richard.
When Lorelai and Rory come over for dinner they find the wall sized portrait of Richard. The girls are mortified of the giant portrait and assume Emily must have got the measurements wrong. However, in the end Lorelai finds the new, and much smaller portrait of Richard.
