Eight Times DJ Khaled Gave Major Key Advice
Joe Lotter

A major key to success is following DJ Khaled on Snapchat. When he isn’t busy making money, he updates his Snap Story frequently. He’s sure to drop some inspiration into your life. Go check him out and show him some "fan luv." He’s always up to something…

1. “The other day the grass was brown. It’s green cuz I ain’t give up. Never surrender.”

Khaled says that we should never stop. Some days feel long and they almost knock the breath out of you. I promise that if you just push through and take care of your business, you’ll thank yourself later.

2. “I check my emails and my texts.”

We all fall short of responding to emails and text messages. Make it a routine to check your emails and texts and reply to them every day. Maybe on your lunch break or before you go to sleep.

3. “Egg whites, turkey bacon, and wheat toast. Water, of course. Bless up, enjoy your breakfast.”

As we all know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! DJ Khaled incorporates lean meats into his diet and removes the yolks from his eggs. He also makes sure to stay hydrated! He's all about starting the day off right. He says we don't want to be too thin, and he's right; we don't want to be too thin. We want to be Khaled.

4. “Put that money in your savings account.”

Balling on a budget stinks. Being a college student and wanting to balance your time between school, your social life, and work really takes a hit to your wallet. Maybe if we put a portion of our paychecks into our savings account, we’ll be able to afford a personal chef for three meals a day, seven days a week, too.

5. “Give thanks!”

Do just that! Give thanks! If someone has done a kind favor for you, make sure that you thank that person. Don’t assume they already know that you appreciate them.

6. “The key to success is to enjoy life, because they don’t want you to enjoy life.”

Between all of the things that we HAVE to do, it’s so important that we make time for the things that we WANT to do! 10 years from now, we won’t remember the work and the hustle. We'll remember the fun that we had and those that we shared it with!

7. “They wanna come stress me out? Heh, bye?"

There is no better time than now to say goodbye to the things in your life that bring you great stress. Whatever it may be, it’s time to let it go. The chances are, things that stress you out now aren't going to stop stressing you out anytime soon. The things that you are passionate about will not stress you out. It’s a different feeling.

8. “Stay away from they.”

Absolutely do not let the opinions of other people get in your way. Let opinions that differ from your own challenge your mind and make you think. Don’t let them interfere with your passions or your dedication to what you believe is true.

"Another one."

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
