Walking to class can be one of the most peaceful times of your day. Whether you're walking to the most boring class you have all day or walking to a class you have a test in, your thoughts are to yourself and you really can take a minute out of your busy day to enjoy the fresh air. However, the more and more you walk to your classes at UGA, you notice that you start to have the same thoughts over and over again. Here are 8 thoughts you undoubtably have while walking to class at the University of Georgia.

1. "Wow, this hill is really steep."

I swear, when building the University of Georgia, they found the hilliest part of Georgia and thought, "Hey, this is a great place to put an entire university!"

2. "I wonder if anyone else has ever noticed all the squirrels on this campus."

You truly must never go to class if you've never noticed the strangely large amount of squirrels and chipmunks that run around this campus.

3. "Ugh, I really wish I could go into that dining hall right now."

The struggle is real once you're a sophomore and no longer on the meal plan. Not a day goes by that I don't wish I could run into Bolton and get a chocolate chocolate chip cookie. And if you have a commuter meal plan, I am extremely jealous of you.

4. "I wonder if anyone just saw me trip."

Whether you're on your phone, or just oblivious to the world, that sidewalk always happens to come out of nowhere.

5. "WHY ARE THERE SO MANY HILLS??"

Like I said, those hills just don't seem to go away.

6. "I wonder if I'll see that guy who's always on his bike with that giant speaker blasting music."

If you go to UGA, you have most definitely seen the guy who's always playing music and hanging out on his bike. If you haven't, then you're seriously missing out.

7. "Oh, I know them! Wait they just put their head down. Okay, I'll act like I don't know them either."

We've all had these moments around campus where we definitely know each other, but sometimes, we all forget how to be social and just choose to look away.

8. "This campus really does rock."

Whether you're walking by the Arch or walking past Sandford Stadium in the middle of campus, you can't help but appreciate the true beauty behind the University of Georgia. After all, we do go to the best university on this Earth.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

1. People assume you are mad all of the time.

2. Ten out of ten times you will give off an intimidating impression to others.

3. People do not acknowledge your feelings because you "do not have any."

4. Constantly being exhausted from trying to smile and not look like a witch.

5. And on the rare occasion your facial expressions show how happy you are, your friends think you are going crazy.

6. Each of your friends has said "I thought you were so mean when I first met you" at some point.

7. Then they follow that by saying "you are just hard to read."

8. So naturally if people do not know you they just assume you are a snob.

9. And when you are actually mad, your facial expressions are horrifying.

10. In the end you always look like you are judging people, when in reality people are ALWAYS judging you.
