This year I have the opportunity to live on my own in on off campus house. So far it has been pretty interesting. There are defiantly pros and cons of living on my own. Here are just a few thoughts I have had while living on my own.

1. It is so quiet!

I do not have a roommate. There are no obnoxious neighbors.I can actually concentrate on my work and not be bothered by anyone. This is so great!

2. It is kind of lonely

So yeah peace and quiet is great, but it could get a little bit lonely at times. If you want to see people you have to go out of your way to make plans instead of just walking down the hall or knocking on your roommate’s door.Let’s be honest, nobody wants to do that.

3. There is no one to share with!

All of the food is mine!I do not have to worry about someone stealing my snacks or taking a water bottle without replacing it!This is way too perfect!

4. There is no one to share with.

Oh yeah, I am the only one here to buy food and to clean stuff. Great.

5. The shower is mine and only mine

This goes without saying, but having a shower to myself is one of the single greatest things to happen to me in a college living facility.

6. There is no one to yell at you when you sleep in

My alarm did not go off!Why didn’t anyone tell me?Oh…right.

7. I have a washer and dryer all to myself

Ok I lied. This is the single greatest thing to happen to me in a college living space. They are always open.No one will touch my stuff.I could leave things in the dryer if I am in a hurry.I do not need to use the laundromat (bigger blessing than one might think).Everything is awesome!

8. I am alone with my thought

So I guess this is good and bad.Sure sometimes I miss having others around, but honestly it is nice to be alone with my thoughts.I can get so much more done now than I have before.I never have to find a place to go if I want to be alone. The TV is mine and solely mine (ok maybe that is the best thing to happen in a college living space).Besides, if it gets too lonely I can always go out of my way to see people. It is really not as big of a deal as I made it sound earlier.Living alone really is a great option!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
