8 Things You've Said To Your Roommate More Than Once

The trash needs to go.

Having a roommate for the first time in college is way different than having your own room at home. Together, you both will go through the stresses of school, as well as the stresses of maintaining a shared living space. During this time, you will get to know each other very well, in a good or a bad way. Nevertheless, there are several common phrases that you have probably said to your roommate more than once.

1. "I think we need to take out the trash."

You have been wondering why your dorm room smells like a mix of day-old sushi and vodka. There's also a mysterious milky substance leaking out of the garbage so that's when you know it's time for it to go.

2. "I'm not going out tonight."

But your roommate knows damn well that you will make your appearance in a frat basement later that evening.

3. "Where are you?"

This is usually a frantic 3 A.M. text that you have sent your roommate more than once when she went out and never returned home.

4. "Where is the Lysol?"

Dorm life is a breeding ground for germs, and the second that you both found out that your neighbor down the hall has strep throat, you spray like there's no tomorrow. You also feel the need to spray when you both wake up after a long night and find food, alcohol and trash all over the place, which is bound to create some stench and carry many germs.

5. "Does this outfit look good?"

You ALWAYS want to hype your roomie up so she obviously looks great and feels flawless, but you both know that she will change at least 47 more times...most likely ending up in the first outfit that she tried on.

6. "Should we order food?"

Yes. The answer is always yes. The dining hall is most likely offering a cuisine that isn't edible. Too bad your bank account will be suffering. The mozzarella sticks and wings were probably worth it in the end.

7. "Wake me up when you're planning on getting up."

This is usually the plan the night before you both decide that you are going to be productive the next day. Do you end up being productive? No. You slept through your alarm, and your roommate missed her class that she hasn't been going to for the past 3 weeks anyways.

8. "I'm going to go to the gym later today if you want to come."

Again, a great idea at first, but when it comes to implementation, reality sets in, and you realize that you have no motivation to go... so you probably just order some sushi together instead.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
