University life can be stressful, and these are some things I like to do to make my week the best that it can be. It is never a bad thing to tell someone you love them or try something new and exciting. There have been a lot of sad events that have happened recently, so remember to live your life to its fullest today, because you never know what is going to happen tomorrow.

1. Tell your family you love them.

There is never a wrong time to remind your family and friends that you love them. Not only will it make them feel good, but it will also brighten your week knowing that you made them smile. Your family sacrifices a lot, whether you know it or not. They deserve to know how appreciative you are for that.

2. Thank anyone who has made an impact on you.

There could be a lot of people that have made an impact on you but try and thank them. They might not even know that they have impacted you, so let them know that they made a difference in your life. It will make them feel really special, which will give you a good feeling.

3. Try something new.

Life is too short to sit around following a routine. Try something new, whether it is a food or an activity. Maybe you and your friends do something simple like trying somewhere new for dinner or something extravagant like skydiving or getting a tattoo. Take advantage of the life you are living. Tragic events are happening all around the world; don’t take your life for granted because you never know what could happen tomorrow.

4. Take a risk.

Like I said previously – life is short, try something new and take a risk. There are so many types of risks. Face your fear. If you are scared of heights, go rock climbing. Are you an introvert? Put yourself out there and go to a karaoke bar. If you take a risk, chances are you won’t regret it. Live life on the edge a little bit. If you do, you will never get bored.

5. Stay in touch with your friends.

Your friends are a vital part of your life. Stay in touch with not only your current friends but also friends from the past. When I talk to my friends, I am put in a good mood. It is always a great feeling to be able to just hang out and talk to your friends. If I am upset or annoyed, my friends are the first people I turn to, because I know that I will more likely leave the conversation smiling, forgetting what bothered me before.

6. Clean your room

There is no better place to live than in a clean room. If your room is clean and organized, then it will help to declutter your brain if you’re stressed. Cleaning is also a very relaxing past time. Every time I clean my room, I am put in an even better mood than when I started. Blast some music or a show and organize everything; put stuff back in its spot. You’ll feel great after.

7. Stay active

Go to the gym, go for a walk, or go play a sport. Whatever you do to stay active is healthy for your body which will lead to a healthy life. Staying active during the week is a great way to relieve stress or any built up feelings while also receiving a positive outcome. Staying active has a bunch of benefits, so take advantage of them.

8. Study away from your room

Last but certainly not least, study. I find it best to study in the library because then I will focus, however, I like to change up where I go. You should study every day, but if you don't, try at least once a week, and study somewhere new. Not only does it give you a chance to explore your school or town a little more, but it might also give you a feeling of freedom because you aren’t stuck in one place.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
