8 Things You Learn As The Middle Child
Sam Drew

The most forgotten child has a lot of perks, but don't get me wrong it's not all great. From my experience, I think Hannah Montana sums it up pretty well: "you get the best of both worlds"!

1. Flying under the radar is awesome (forgotten)

Your parents have their hands full and they take advantage of the idea that you seem to be able to make it on your own. Sometimes this is amazing however sometimes all you want is the center of attention and for everyone to know you exist.

2. You are always the family mediator

Whether your parents are in a silly fight or your brother is in a battle with your dad, you always seem to have to work them through their fight and force a reconciliation. You learn to work your magic and get an apology out of both sides.

3. The middle seat in the car is your home

It doesn't matter that you are not the smallest kid it is simply nature that you are forced in the middle even if it just a hump in the back seat of a small car. No matter how much you complain your seat will never be switched.

4. You are closer to each of your siblings than they are with each other

Being closer in age to your sibling makes you much closer because you can relate to each other's experiences more. You get to enjoy learning life lessons from the older sibling and passing on knowledge to your younger sibling.

5. You are not the guinea pig but also not your parents' last hope

Slightly less pressure because your parents already had a trial run with your older sibling but you are not the last child that holds the last opportunity to carry out all of your parents' wishes.

6. You are the “cool” older sibling and the annoying younger one

You learn from your older sibling, that not helping out with social events, to always be available to help the younger sibling. You get to bother your older sibling and be the hero to your younger sib.

7. You are more willing to compromise so you are good at arguing

It is scientifically proven that middle children are far more able to compromise. With this amazing trait, you kill arguments because you can always reach a peaceful state despite opposing views.

8. You are the most independent of your siblings

With sliding under the radar, learning to compromise, and sometimes being forgotten you have a lot of time to learn how to do any and everything on your own. And hey that is a great setup for the real world.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

1. The Legacy.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer.
