8 Things To Do When the Rain Won't Stop
Curbed LA

If you've been anywhere in or near Florida in the last couple of weeks, you would know that it literally has NOT stopped raining. At first, the rain was a nice excuse to stay inside but its almost gone too far. There's some more rain in the forecast so I figured I would share some of my rainy day entertainment tips to keep you occupied for this torrential downpour or the next time you just want to shut all the blinds and pretend its a rainy day.

1. Read a Book.

Its the beginning of the summer so all the great summer reads are just now hitting the shelves. There is no shortage of summer books that will take you to visions of sunnier days on the beach. In my opinion, there's no better way to kill some time.

2. Have a Movie Marathon.

There is a lot of movie series out there...Star Wars, Indian Jones, Rocky, etc. so if you're in the movie mood, pick a series you haven't seen before. It's a great, and entertaining way to pass the hours and brush up on your pop culture references.

3. Build a Fort.

This one might seem a little childish, but that's exactly the point. There's nothing cooler than making a pillow and blanket fort on the floor of your living room and getting comfortable while pairing it with something like number 1 or 2.

4. Do a puzzle.

Up until recently, puzzles had fallen off my radar and it wasn't until one of my friends suggested we do one late one night. I was surprised at how quickly it helped us pass the time. Pick one that you love and get puzzlin'.

5. Do Some Crafting.

Maybe there is a DIY project you have had your eye on, or maybe you just might want to break out some paint but crafting is a great way to get your creative juices going and waiting out the rain.

6. Learn a Card Game.

There are hundreds of card games out there and most people don't know most of them but they are a great thing to know, not just for a rainy day. From solo games like solitaire to games that you play with a group of friends such as Crazy 8's, there is any number of options when it comes to card games.

7. Master a Party Trick.

Party tricks are always an impressive thing to whip out at any number of gatherings and there's no better time to master one than when the rain is keeping you stuck inside all day.

8. Bake something.

Baking is never a bad idea. Sweets are always great to have around, and I see this as a win-win situation. It's something to entertain you while it pours and you end up with some great sweet treats

I hope these 8 ideas spur on your creative side and give you some sort of entertainment until the sun finally decides to break through the clouds and give us a nice respite from the rain.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
