8 Things I Want My College Friends To Know
Morgan Fox

As I sit in my childhood home and look back at pictures from my first year of college; I start to realize how much I miss all of my friends that I met at college. This is my first summer that my friends aren't all living in the same city as me. In fact, the closest college friend to me is over 20 miles away. I'm glad that I met so many amazing people in college and I feel lucky that it is so easy to talk to them even when we can't see each other everyday. With all of our busy schedules it's hard to see each other. Here are some of the things that I miss about my friends and some things that I want to make sure that they know!

1. I miss you.

It was so easy to go down the hall or up the stairs to see friends while you are in college. I miss seeing you everyday and the easy communication.

2. Thank you for putting up with me when I didn't know what was going on.

I know that it was rough and I knew nothing about living in the city. Thanks for sticking with me when I asked ten thousand questions and putting up with my weird habits. I'm also sorry for spilling a lot and breaking things. Forgive me.

3. I miss the unnecessarily long conversations.

Especially about breakfast because who else would talk to me about breakfast for 20 minutes? It's seriously the best meal of the day and it was always a good day when we got to eat breakfast together.

4. Remember when we thought the summer before college was hard?

After finishing a busy year of college and then going straight to a full time job has proven more difficult. Being a responsible adult sucks because we don't get to see each other as often as we want to.

5. Take some time for yourself.

Please make sure that even with your busy schedule and empty wallet that you are still taking time to treat yourself a little bit this summer! Before we know it, we are going to be back in class and back into the craziness of college.

6. I'm proud of you.

I just want to make sure that you know how proud I am of you and that you should be proud of yourself.

7. I get so excited when people tell me it looks like I had fun in college.

I like to tell people about you guys because you are some of the greatest people I've ever met and I like to brag about you. It's also fun to talk about all of the fun adventures that we got to go on.

8. I can't wait until September when I get to see you all again.

I can't wait to be with you every day. It is so nice to be surrounded by people who care and share similar interests with me. I'm going to give you three months worth of hugs. Be prepared.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.
