Washington Township, is a hometown to many. A place you can find around Cherry Hill, Ocean City, and Philly, or so we say. The town itself may seem small, but has an abundance of people living in it. I was born and raised in Washington Township. After thinking about how my life was here, I bet we all can agree it has given us plenty of friendships, experience, and memories.
1. It's TWP.
No one who has ever lived in Washington Township has called it Washington Township. It's always and forever TWP.
2. Mr. Bollendorf is the best principal.
He was and will always be the best principal. He has the sweetest and funniest personality. He always understands. And let's not forget senior trip with him!
3. We are the "premier community."
Our water tower says so, although anyone who lives there knows it's not so premier. Between the fights in school to the rumored drug selling, we are anything but "premier."
4. Wearing IDs.
The dreaded ID must be worn at all times during the school day, or you face punishment.
5. Wanting to leave, but staying anyway.
Anyone who has lived in TWP has said, "I want to leave this town." Anyone who has lived here also has said, "I can't ever leave this town." Don't lie, you've said both. Washington Township is a love/hate town.
6. Frank's pizza.
Convenient and close pizza. Just a crosswalk away from the high school, and the pizza ain't bad either.
7. Cliques.
They exist. You were in one, and you know it. And you owned it.
8. SENIOR YEAR!
Senior year is the best year of your life, especially if you went to TWP. Senior dances, senior trip, everything seniors do is a big deal. You cry at least at one of these events. You hug your friends constantly because you're all leaving soon. You start to appreciate the teachers, the people, classes. Senior trip is by far the best memory you can think of to this day. Make the most of your senior year they say, and TWP sure does.
