For many college students, graduation is just around the corner. This can be an awesome time to look back on all your hard work and achievements, but looming pressure to have a plan for the real world can be daunting. Here are some ideas for how to make the most of your post-grad experience and be semi-productive (only when necessary).

1. Sleep for a thousand years

You’ve managed to make it through years of late-night study binges. You function in a state of constant exhaustion from balancing work, school, and a social life. All of this achieving calls for a serious nap.

2. Read all the books (that you actually want to read).

You bluffed your way through a shameful amount of conversations over current bestsellers while spending the last four years speed-reading textbooks. Time to catch up.

3. Do something healthy

Maybe eat some vegetables. Try incorporating exercise in your schedule a few times a week. Your body is probably going to rebel after being a human garbage disposal of dry waffles and chicken nuggets.

4. Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to develop new skills for the work force, meet new people, and have fun supporting a great cause! Check out Volunteer Match to find volunteer opportunities in your area.

5. Make a LinkedIn profile

LinkedIn is a great tool to make professional connections and find new opportunities. Once you have your resume set up, you can apply for jobs with just the click of a button! The LinkedIn Student App is great for new grads with extra guidance for entering the workforce.

6. Take the job

Get some experience! We all have to start somewhere. Do your research. Send in a few applications a day. Practice your interview skills. You might not land your dream job, but you’ll land an okay job to help you get from here to there.

7. Treat yo’self

Groupon has tons deals to pamper any variety of dirt-poor graduates.

8. See the world

Travel as much as your budget allows. Spend a week or more touring some of the world's most amazing places or volunteer abroad. Take a road trip of America's best, or explore the hidden gems of your home state.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
