8 Things That Require Zero Talent

“If you believe, you will achieve”.

Okay, even I’ll admit that one is a little cheesy. But cheesy or not, this saying is very true.

The other day I came across a list of 10 Things That Require Zero Talent. The list was full of honest words, and left me feeling empowered.

This list serves a reminder that to be someone you admire, you don’t need money, talent, or connections.

Being On Time: Sometimes one of the most difficult parts is showing up, so if you’re on time then you’re already ahead of the game. Plus, there is nothing more frustrating than having someone waste your time, so don’t be that person that waste’s someone else’s.

Work Ethic: Even if you think no recognition is being given, believe me, someone is noticing. If people only worked on the days they felt good, very little would get done in this world. So, work hard and to the fullest because your main priorities deserve your undivided attention.

Effort: This one goes along with number 2 especially well. Put your whole self into your aspirations. Everyone has the same 24 hours in a day. How we spend our time and energy will separate those who want it from those who get it.

Body Language: What truly exposes your true feelings is body language, because like they say, actions speak louder than words. Your face, tone, and even arm positions show all of the emotions you’re trying to hide. Be honest compassionate, make good eye contact, and have a firm handshake.

Energy: Your energy determines how well and how much stuff you get done. Whether it’s coffee, soda, or candy, make sure to get your dose in the morning so that you can be productive and produce high quality work.

Attitude: Going alone with energy, your attitude sets your tone for the day. The perfect attitude lies somewhere between pessimism and optimism. It’s the grey area that gives us a sense of reality. Be sure to take life’s curveballs with a grain of salt be willing to be flexible.

Being Coachable: Genuinely be willing to learn. If you always have desire to learn more, then you will continuously grow and prosper. Take notes from others who inspire you, don’t copy another person’s every move, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Being Prepared: This one is pretty self explanatory; be prepared so you don’t take L’s.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
