The gym can be a scary place with extremely fit people benching 300 pounds with one arm and people running 10 miles on the treadmill. Partly becuase of it being so intimidating, there are so many different ways I would rather spend my time than pumping iron at the gym. The hardest part of working out is finding the motivation to get to the gym. Instead of working out you could be doing so many other things to procrastinate.
1. Sleeping
There is nothing better than taking a nap to avoid your responsibilities and the chore of going to the gym. They say you burn calories as you sleep so I am ready to burn a million right now.
2. Cleaning
If you are really not in the mood to work out you can spend your day cleaning your room to avoid the sweaty gym. Maybe you will end up cleaning your whole house, making your mom proud and forgetting that you did not go to the gym.
3. Reading a book

4. Eating
Pizza, chips, tacos, whatever your choice of snack is it will help you escape the dreadful gym. No one wants to run on a full stomach of junk food. You can also add food to almost anything else on this list making it a prime choice for procrastination.
5. Watching Netflix
This one is a no brainer. You can watch Netflix to procrastinate any task. What is better than spending eight hours on the couch watching your favorite show? Yes, I am still watching.
6. Shopping
Whether it is online or in store, shopping is one of the best ways to avoid going to the gym. Lululemon has some pretty cute workout clothes that can pass for everyday clothes. Shopping is cardio, right?
7. Working
Why not makes some money while you procrastinate working out? Might as well get a job to pay for the gym membership that you do not want to use.
8. Literally anything but working out
When you hear the word gym, it makes you want to curl up in a ball and think of a different way to spend your time. Going to work out is a tough thing to get started in your daily routine, but once you eventually get off the couch and get to the gym, it can be a very rewarding experience. Working out can help you live a healthier lifestyle in all aspects of your life. While it is okay to do nothing and avoid the gym, working out can be a fun experience and will help you improve yourself.
