8 Things You Probably Text Your Roommate Over Break

I'm so glad we're still able to communicate with each other over break.

8 Things You Probably Text Your Roommate Over Break

The past weekend was Thanksgiving break. I was very excited to have a much needed break from school, but I also knew it meant I’d be away from my roommate for five days, which is five days too long. My roommate and I are extremely close and it was definitely weird not seeing her every day. However, it’s a good thing we live in a digital age and have the ability to text each other all the time. So here are eight things you probably text your roommate over break:

1. How was your day?

A good replacement for the "how was class" question. It’s also nice to double check and make sure they had a good day.

2. Did you see this tweet?

My roommate and I love twitter so we are constantly showing each other funny tweets. That didn’t change over break since we were constantly texting each other links to hilarious tweets.

3. I just spent way too much at Target. I went there for one thing and came out with like 10 things.

Target has everything and it's hard to just buy one thing there so we have both experienced this on many occasions.

4. Look at this cute shirt I just got.

We are always sending each other pictures of what we bought over break since we aren’t able to shop together.

5. I’ve gone to Starbucks the past three days in a row.

I let her know that I haven't changed at all by telling her that I haven’t given up my Starbucks obsession.

6. Did you see this sale?

We both love shopping and saving money. Whenever I see a sale (especially if it’s a Kate Spade Surprise Sale), she is the first person I text.

7. Does this assignment sound okay?

We are always looking over each other’s assignments and during break was no exception. The proofreading doesn't stop.

8. I miss you.

Going from seeing her everyday to five days without seeing her is definitely strange.

My roommate is one of my best friends and it's always hard to be away from your best friends. But with text messages like these, it's not so bad.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
