8 Things Only HGTV Addicts Understand

HGTV is one of those channels everyone has inevitably had on their television at one point or another. While some may have just had it on in the background or reluctantly flipped to it when nothing else was on, others live and breathe by this channel. These are the HGTV addicts, and only they will be able to agree with the following.

1. Every show is binge-worthy

House Hunters? Flip or Flop? Love It or List It? It doesn't matter what show is playing, because you can easily waste hours of you day watching a marathon and never lose interest.

2. Jonathan Scott is the only Property Brother that matters

While it's hard to picture the Property Brothers not working as a duo, the show really could just feature contractor Jonathan. No hate towards realtor Drew, but Jonathan is the brother that wows us every episode with the transformation overhaul.

3. If you do not yell at the couple on House Hunters, something is wrong

99.9 percent of House Hunters episodes end with the couple--whom you've likely gotten sick of by the end of the half hour--picking the wrong house. Not to mention they probably have complained about paint colors, carpet, and wallpaper to no end all episode, which leaves you screaming at your TV.

4. You already plan to buy a fixer upper for your first home

It's so much more effective.

5. Chip and Joanna from "Fixer Upper" define relationship goals for you

The key is to find someone who you can design houses with.

6. You think about going into the house flipping business

Making a profit of $50-100K in a couple of weeks? Sign me up!

7. The term “open-concept” is seared into your brain

If a house isn't open concept, you may as well forget it. Or at least make it open concept.

8. You dream about one day being featured on an episode of “Island Life

The ultimate goal in life is to have a scrawny $5 million budget to buy your own island escape.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
