8 Things I Learned From Binge Watching 'Friends'
Stuff Point

Anyone who has watched the series Friends knows how addictive it can be.

It's hard not to fall in love with Candler, Joey, Ross, Rachel, Monica and Phoebe and all the adventures they have together. During winter break I decided to do a little binge watching. Here is a list of things I learned from Friends after my four day binge.

1. It's okay to be single in your 20's.

Sometimes being single in your 20's makes you feel like you're doing it all wrong. Am I supposed to be married or something? Should I at least be dating? Friends is a comforting reminder that not everybody in their 20's is in a serious relationship, or any kind of relationship for that matter.

2. You're going to fight with your best friends.

No matter how much you love your best friends, when you spend every waking moment together there is bound to be a fight or two, and this is okay. You know it will blow over eventually so just apologize when necessary.

3. Its okay to just do nothing sometimes.

When you've had a rough week, or just need a break from life in general, it's okay to take some time to just hang around and do nothing.

4. Not every date you go on will be a good one.

No matter how cute they might've been when you first met them, not every date you go on is going to go as you hoped and that's okay! On to the next one.

5. Having 4 cups of coffee a day is totally normal (?)

So this is kind of an assumption on my part to justify my coffee addiction. Central Perk is their main hangout spot, they must have have at least a few cups of coffee per day with the amount of time they spend there.

6. It's okay to not have your whole life planned out.

Just because you don't have your whole life figured out yet, doesn't mean you never will. It's okay to try new things and test the waters to figure out what you really want.

7. Be your own person.

Every character in the show has different personalities and their own little quirks that make them who they are. This is what makes the show interesting so don't forget to be your own person, your friends will like you for who you are.

8. Your friends will always be there for you.

No matter what kind of trouble you get yourself into, or the fights you have, or the mistakes you made, your friends will always be there for you through the good and the bad.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
