8 Things I've Found In My Bookmarks

They've been here for years...but I can't let go.

8 Things I've Found In My Bookmarks

Having the internet is amazing. Honestly, I can't imagine my life without it! Access to the internet allows me to learn everything about anything, find new things to try, and take quizzes to see what Hogwarts House I’d be sorted into (Slytherin for life bitches). That being said, having all this information at my fingers has led me to become somewhat of a hoarder. A hoarder of bookmarks, that is. I have just tons and tons and tons of bookmarks saved on my browser, and some have just been there for what seems like EONS. I swear, I’ve had some of these since probably high school. So, I spent my afternoon looking through all these bookmarks I’ve saved for all this time to see if any of them were actually worthwhile. Here are some of the pages I’ve saved!

1. http://www.dumbingofage.com/

This webcomic was one of the first ones I really got into when I learned about webcomics. It follows the life of a group of college students throughout their four years and looks into their daily lives and their individual issues from their distinct lives before college. I still try to keep myself updated as much as possible, but I highly suggest it!

AS IF YOU NEEDED AN EXCUSE TO WATCH MORE SHIT ON NETFLIX. Here is a comprehensive list of what community members think you are missing out on!

3. http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/games/run

This game freakin DOMINATED my high school. We got laptops in school, and thus began the never ending search to find the best (non-blocked) games on the internet. This game is ADDICTING AS HELL and I played it again while I was in college and did very well. I’m very proud.

4. http://8tracks.com/blondebeats/whipped-into-showtune-shape

Amazing soundtrack for us musical-theater nerds who enjoy working out too. GET WHIPPED INTO SHAPE!

5. https://www.buzzfeed.com/hnigatu/how-to-make-30-different-kinds-of-shots-in-one-handy-infogra?utm_term=.hiWbgbXkwr#.ajEoJoO5Vw

This seemed 100% necessary. It will stay in my bookmarks.

6. https://www.etsy.com/shop/vegetabowls

Because one day I’ll have a nice, big, open house with huge windows to let the sun stream in and I’ll made the kids cute after school snacks in these little bowls and all will be right with the world.

7. http://ilovehandles.com/shop/paperback/

This phone case is 1000000% needed for my daily life. Like how ingenious is this???

8. http://cookingontheweekends.com/2016/04/double-peanut-butter-cup-cookies-gluten-free-recipe/

JUST LOOK AT IT. SO GOOEY. SO MUCH PEANUT BUTTER. I’ll make them one day. I swear.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
